The Apple Cluster Project in Shopian, Jammu and Kashmir is a strategic project awarded by the National Horticultural Board as per Government of India’s initiative on developing the cluster projects in the country. FIL’s Shopian cluster project is the only apple cluster project in India, with a total area coverage of 21,000 Ha involving more than 50,000 farmers.
The cluster project is designed to leverage the geographical specialization of horticulture clusters and promote integrated and market-led development of pre-production, production, post-harvest, logistics, branding, and marketing activities.
